A French media outlet has accused Ukraine of supplying drones to rebels in Mali to counter the Wagner Group
The media in question is Le Monde, which reported that since the summer of 2024, Tuareg rebels from the CSP movement in northern Mali have been actively using Ukrainian UAVs in their fight against the Malian junta and the Wagner PMC.
In response, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied these allegations. The ministry also categorically rejected all accusations, often voiced by officials in Mali and Niger, regarding Ukraine’s alleged cooperation with terrorists, supplying terrorists with weapons, or providing them with intelligence: “Since the first months of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine was the first to initiate the establishment of a comprehensive system of monitoring and control over weapons supplied by Western partners. During this time, Western partners have not found a single case of misuse of weapons or equipment.”
