US Special Representative Keith Kellogg arrives in Kyiv

On the morning of February 19, US Special Representative for Russia and Ukraine Keith Kellogg arrived in Kyiv, where he was received by US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink.

On the morning of February 19, it was confirmed that Keith Kellogg had arrived in the Ukrainian capital. Ambassador Brink welcomed the official upon his arrival.  

Following his arrival in Kyiv, Kellogg made his first statement:  

“We will listen. We are ready to provide what is necessary. We understand the need for security guarantees. Part of my mission is to listen. Then I will return to the US and speak with President Trump to ensure we understand everything correctly,” he stated.  

He also added that he truly believes “the war would not have started if Trump had been president at the time.”  

“He understands that people are suffering, he understands the destruction. And we want this to end,” Kellogg said.  

Earlier in February, media reports indicated that Keith Kellogg was expected to visit Ukraine soon.  

A few days ago, on February 17, while in Brussels, Trump’s special representative shared details of his plans with journalists. He stated that he would arrive in Warsaw on Tuesday and then take a train to Kyiv, arriving in the Ukrainian capital on Wednesday morning.  

Kellogg also revealed that his visit would last three days. He confirmed that he would meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but did not specify whether he would visit the front lines.  

On February 18, Kellogg arrived in Poland for a meeting with President Andrzej Duda. According to Duda, the United States has “taken a very strong role in efforts to end the war in Ukraine.” He expressed hope that the new American leader would be able to bring the war to an end.  

Duda also noted that Kellogg would soon visit Kyiv for negotiations with the Ukrainian government.
