Ukraine has proposed to France to use the income from frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine's defense industry
Ukraine proposes to create joint ventures with French companies that produce weapons, according to specific needs. Several projects have been suggested, which could potentially be financed using the interest from frozen Russian assets.
This was stated by Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense Serhiy Boyev during a meeting with France’s Special Representative for Ukraine Assistance and Reconstruction, Pierre Elbron, as reported by Rubryka.
Serhiy Boyev informed that Ukraine’s critical needs remain air defense and missile defense systems, interceptor missiles for existing systems, heavy armored vehicles, and ammunition.
“Besides investment and production development, Ukraine is also interested in purchasing ready-made weapons. The needs remain significant, the situation on the front is dynamic, so we require quick solutions,” the Deputy Minister concluded.
Serhiy Boyev also informed the French president’s special representative about Russia’s current plans. He emphasized that the actions of the aggressor indicate that Russia has no intention of stopping the war and continues to strengthen its capabilities in forming units, recruiting new personnel, and developing its defense industry.
“For us, it is crucial to continue receiving support from our partners and to be ready to increase it. Ukraine must be strong on the battlefield – this is essential for achieving lasting peace,” noted Serhiy Boyev.
