The night attack on Dnipro: russians used all means of missiles arsenal

This night was hard for the city of Dnipro in the central Ukraine. The city was targeted almost by all available means of the russian strategic aviation as well by shahed drones.

Russian terrorists massively attacked the Dnipro with missiles and drones. From 15 to 40 explosions were heard in the city, sources say.

"Fascists. Terrorists. Inhumans. But, thanks to the Defense Forces, we withstood the attack. Details later. For now we will not comment on anything. Take the rules of martial law seriously," wrote Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.

Previously, the city was attacked by: shahed drones; missiles of the KH-22 type; ballistic missiles of various types (Iskander-K, Iskander-M, possibly S-400).

In total, about 20 missiles were launched toward the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

"Preliminarily, all missiles were aimed at the Dnipro," - another source stated.

In one of the districts of the Dnipro, the flames from the fire is visible, witnesses report.

The cancelation of the threat in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast reported around 4 a.m. in the morning.

"There was a cancelaion of a threat in the Dnipro. Today, the Dnipro was the target of the Katsaps [russians], on which they combined strikes with shahed drones and missiles," writes the Armed Forces of Ukraine. War with the invaders.

Morning report from the Air Force of Ukraine in discovers the following:

On the night of May 22, 2023, russian invaders attacked military and infrastructure facilities in the city of Dnipro.

The attack was carried out by 16 missiles of various types and 20 shahed drones of the "Shahed" type. In general, the enemy released:

  • 4 Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles from Tu-95ms strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea region;
  • 5 Kh-22 cruise missiles from Tu-22m3 long-range bombers from different directions - the Sea of Azov and the Kursk Region;
  • 2 "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea;
  • 5 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region;
  • 20 "Shahed" strike drones from the south and north.

During the night attack on May 22, 4 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 20 shahed attack drones were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces and means.

At night, the russian forces attacked Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

15 drones and 4 cruise missiles were shot down over the Oblast.

A total of 8 people were injured as a result of the "arrivals".

Several buildings of the rescue unit were damaged. More than 10 trucks and cars were destroyed, as many units of special equipment were damaged. 25 private cars and 2 buses were damaged.

"A private enterprise in Dnipro was also hit. 3 buildings were mutilated there. A UAV fell in the Hilarionivska community of the Synelnyk district. Missile fragments were also found there. 3 private houses and 9 apartment buildings were hit. And also a kindergarten, shops and administrative buildings. 6 cars were destroyed." , - reported in Dnipro Oblast Military Administration.

Explosions were also heard in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia.

There is also information about the launch of Kh-101 missiles from the Tu-95ms bomber from the Caspian Sea area. False goals are not exclude, but all of them were concentrate around the Dnipro city.

The city mayor Borys Filatov informed the tall detailed information about the night attack will be available in the nearest time.

 So, let’s sum up.

7x Tu-95ms took off from Olenya and Engels airbases (4/3x, respectively).

4x strategic bombers moved from the North towards the Caspian Sea and launched one Kh-101/555 missile each.

The air group from Engels, consisting of 3x Tu-95ms, probably trained in the same area, but did not make launches due to the lack of missiles.

5x Tu-22m3 took off from the Shaykovka airbase and launched 5x Kh-22 missiles from launch sites in the Sea of Azov and the Kursk region.

Consequently, the enemy reduces the load on aircraft and the equipment becomes smaller due to the shortage of air-launched cruise missiles and the banal wear and tear of strategic missile carriers. At the same time, the enemy keeps a large number of aircraft in the air, creating a false impression of “massive” missile launches.

All Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles were shot down by air defense; Kh-22 hit for obvious reasons. Let's hold the line.

What is clear as of now, it that russia's potential to conduct massive air strike on Ukraine is not the goal nowadays. The reason might be as follows: new tactics, the lack of missiles potentials or the russian strategic aviation aircrafts worm out.
