Russian attack on Kyiv: KCMA reports the aftermath

According to UAZMI, on the night of May 25, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine. Kyiv was struck by Shahed drones and missiles, resulting in damage and casualties in the capital. This was reported by Glavkom, citing the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).

As of 4:00 a.m., the following damage to civilian infrastructure in the capital was recorded:

  • In the Holosiivskyi district, a dormitory was damaged and caught fire. The fire has been extinguished. Debris from downed enemy UAVs also fell in several locations.
  • In the Dniprovskyi district, the second floor of a private residential building was destroyed. No fire was reported.
  • In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a business center was damaged.

Eleven people aged between 18 and 62 have been reported injured. The information is being updated. Rescue teams and other services are working at all affected sites.

“In the airspace on the approaches to the capital, Russian attack UAVs are still being detected. The enemy’s attack is ongoing. Air defense may be active! We urge everyone to remain in shelters until the all-clear is given!” — stated the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).

Earlier, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported explosions in the capital and the operation of air defense systems. He called on all residents to stay in shelters.

Kyiv City Military Administration Head, Tymur Tkachenko, also wrote:

“More than a dozen enemy drones are already in the airspace around the capital, with more incoming. Some of the drones over Kyiv and its outskirts have already been intercepted. But targets are still approaching the capital. The night will not be easy. There is a threat of the enemy using a large number of drones and missiles launched from strategic aircraft. I urge everyone to take the threat seriously and remain in shelters.”

As a reminder, explosions were also reported in Dnipro and Odesa, according to Glavkom citing local Telegram channels.

Loud explosions were heard in Dnipro. According to local Telegram channels, air defense systems were responding to enemy drones. Before the explosions occurred, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, warned residents of the city and region about the danger:

“There is still an air raid alert in the region. There is a possibility that the threat will persist into the night. Please respond to the warnings. Move to a safe place — it saves lives. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones,” Lysak wrote.

The mayor of Odesa stated that it was loud in the city. Local Telegram channels also reported explosions, a strike, and a fire.
