Deep State: The head of the Staff of Unmanned Systems Forces was appointed Roman Hladkyi, who was previously dismissed from the Navy for improper conduct

He was also involved in cases of state treason, according to Deep State analysts.

Roman Hladkyi, who was dismissed in 2018 from the position of Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the Navy for improper performance of duties, has been appointed Chief of Staff of the Command of Unmanned Systems Forces. The appointment was reported by Deep State analysts, volunteer Serhiy Sternenko, and two sources from Liga.

According to Deep State, the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Vadym Sukharievskyi, was not involved in Hladkyi’s appointment. He opposed the decision and does not have the authority to make such appointments.

According to Liga’s sources, the appointment took place a few weeks ago.

In addition to being dismissed for improper performance, Hladkyi has a wife with a Russian passport, who lived in Crimea even after the occupation began. Moreover, analysts report that his daughter participated in sports competitions in Sevastopol under the Russian flag—this information is visible on her social media.

Hladkyi was also involved in cases of state treason and corruption.

In 2018, after Hladkyi’s dismissal from the Navy, rumors circulated that it was due to his wife’s Russian passport. However, then-Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak stated that the dismissal was related to improper performance of duties.

At the time, the Navy stated that Hladkyi was placed at the disposal of the Ministry of Defense.

“Currently, the Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Captain First Rank Roman Hladkyi, has been placed at the disposal of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine to determine his future service status. This decision was made due to deficiencies identified in his service activities following an inspection by the Main Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in one of the Navy’s military units. The inspection is also investigating other factors that may have led to this situation,” the Navy’s statement said.

The creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces was approved by the President in June. The goal is to “enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in using unmanned and robotic air, sea, and land systems and ensuring their readiness for deployment.”
