Western media have learned where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are making breakthroughs in the Kursk region: and it’s not the Kursk nuclear power plant

After the destruction of bridges, the objectives of the Ukrainian offensive in the Kursk region are becoming clearer: the Ukrainian Armed Forces are advancing towards Rylsk and taking control of the territory south of the Seym River.

The Seym River near the border is increasingly becoming a significant dividing line of the front in the Kursk region, suggesting the main intention of the Ukrainian military in this area. Ukrainian assault aviation has already attacked three bridges over the Seym River several times. By Monday, Ukrainian forces had destroyed all vehicle crossings west of the village of Korenyovo, which is located at the extreme northwest of the contested territory.

However, the main objective of the Ukrainian military likely lies further north.

The small town of Rylsk, located 25 kilometers from Korenyovo, is also situated on the Seym River and is becoming an achievable target for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This was reported by the Swiss publication Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

It serves as a center for Russia’s military logistics, as Rylsk is an important railway hub. According to The Moscow Times, the regional railway network is already on the verge of collapse due to the ongoing fighting and the redeployment of additional units. Further Ukrainian attacks are likely to exacerbate the already difficult supply situation for Russian troops.

It remains unclear how far the Ukrainians can and intend to advance without overstretching their positions. The intensity of the fighting has clearly increased.

Although Ukrainian forces do not yet control the entire Russian territory south of the river, they are rapidly advancing deeper into the Kursk region.
