Ukraine war updates: daily briefings as of April 13, 2016

Ukraine war updates on April 13, 2016 by ATO HQ operational data and Presidential Administration spokesman on ATO issues briefing: EMPR highlights.

(1) Russian armed forces and their proxies in eastern Ukraine fired a total of 87 times upon Ukrainian troops over the last day. In particular, Russian forces opened fire 53 times on Donetsk direction, 29  times on Mariupol direction and 5 times on Luhansk direction;
(2) Luhansk direction: Russian forces fired 3 times near Tryokhizbenka and 2 times at Stanyutsya Luhanska; Ukrainian troops were forced to return fire;
(3) Donetsk direction: the situation remains tense; the enemy actively violates ceasefire regime all across the frontline with the use of forbidden heavy arms; the hottest spots reported in Luhanske, Zaytseve, Mayorsk and Avdiivka; industrial zone of Avdiivka is suffered from Russian firing round the clock; moreover, residential areas came under the enemy’s shelling too, in particular, yesterday a secondary school in Avdiivka was shelled by the enemy; Russian forces actively used mortars and APCs during their shelling all across the frontline; 40% of all Russian shelling fulfilled from the forbidden heavy arms;
(4) Mariupol direction: the situation escalates on this front direction, the hottest spots reported at Maryinka, Novoroyitske and Shyrokino; the enemy used mortars, APCs and sniper fire;
(5) Russia-backed militants seized the UN mission staff, Ukrainian origin with diplomatic immunity several days ago and held him captive in Donetsk;
(6) Ukrainian intelligence report on the new facts of ‘Russian military aid’ supply to Russian servicemen and proxies in the eastern regions of Ukraine; in particular, echelon with fuel and lubricants arrived to Krasnodon; another echelon with about 200 tonnes of  ammunition arrived to Debaltseve; 12 tanks and 18 armored vehicles arrived to Illovaysk;
(7) No lethal casualties reported among Ukrainian serviceman, but 8 servicemen were wounded during the last 24 hours; in particular, 3 servicemen were wounded in action, and 5 hit a mine.
