The Defense Forces attacked a depot of North Korean ammunition in Russia’s Bryansk region
On the night of November 19, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the arsenal of the 1046th Logistics Center near the town of Karachev in Russia’s Bryansk region.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of 2:30 a.m., 12 secondary explosions and detonations were recorded near the target area.
“The destruction of ammunition depots intended for the Russian occupiers’ army, aimed at ending Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, will continue,” the General Staff assured.
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, reported that the depot contained artillery munitions, including North Korean ammunition, KABs, anti-aircraft missiles, and MLRS ammunition.
Media outlets report that a missile alert was declared overnight in the Bryansk region, and residents of Karachev reported an attack on a military base.
Videos from local residents capture a glow and sounds of detonation.
The missile threat in the Bryansk region was reported overnight from November 18 to 19 by monitoring channels, local residents, and social media. Sirens and public notifications were activated in the region. Local authorities only reported a drone attack, and the governor stated that eight drones were shot down by morning.
Residents of Karachev in Bryansk region continuously reported explosions, detonations, and an attack on a “military base” throughout the night in local chats and on social media. Several videos from the Karachev area depict sounds of detonation and visible flashes. The 67th GRAU Arsenal (military unit 55443) is located in Karachev. Whether the arsenal was indeed hit last night remains unknown. The NASA fire monitoring system has not detected fires in the Karachev area, according to ASTRA.
Previously, the same arsenal was reportedly attacked on October 8, according to unconfirmed information. Additionally, confirmed data from ASTRA indicates this arsenal has been attacked at least twice: on June 28, 2024, and in October 2023.
As of 9 a.m. Moscow time, residents of Bryansk and Karachev report new sounds of explosions.
