Russians continue to squeeze the remaining Ukrainian bridgehead in the Kursk region: what remains under the control of the AFU
Russian units have advanced to the northern outskirts of Huyeve, south of Sudzha.
Russian forces have recently advanced into the border area of the Kursk region, assaulting the remaining Ukrainian bridgehead. This was reported in the latest update by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Researchers say that geolocated footage published on March 28 shows Russian units advancing to the northern outskirts of Huyeve, south of Sudzha.
At the same time, Russian sources, including the Ministry of Defense, reiterated claims that Russian forces had captured Hoholivka (southwest of Sudzha) and advanced in the east and center of Huyeve.
Russian military bloggers claimed that Russian troops were attacking in the Kursk region near Oleshnya (southwest of Sudzha) and Hoholivka, as well as in the northern Sumy region near Volodymyrivka and Veselivka (both north of the city of Sumy) and near Zhuravka (northeast of Sumy).
Russian analysts stated that the AFU continues to hold positions in the south of Huyeve, in Hornali, and in Oleshnya.
These positions, in particular, continue to be targeted by units of Russia’s Center for Advanced Drone Technologies “Rubicon.”
Earlier, ISW reported that Russian forces had recently captured the village of Hoholivka in the Kursk region and the Sudzha border checkpoint.
