Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of October 17, 2019 by Joint forces operation HQ data: EMPR highlights.  

(1) Russian hybrid forces launched 30 attacks in the war zone in eastern Ukraine for the last 24 hours with the use of forbidden weaponry.

(2) Russian proxies launched 23 attacks with the following types of arms in the East area:

forbidden 120-mm mortar launchers – near Vodyane (7 times), Lebedynske (2 times) and Pisky (2 times),

forbidden 82-mm mortar launchers – near Avdyivka, Lebedynske (2 times) and Pisky (2 times),

easel anti-tank grenade launchers – near Maryinka (2 times),

manual anti-tank grenade launchers – near Pishchevyk,

grenade launchers of different systems – near Novomykhaylivka, Vodyane, Lebedynske, Pisky and Avdyivka,

APC fire – near Vodyane,

high caliber machine guns – near Taramchuk, Avdyivka, Chermalyk (2 times) and Pisky,

small arms – near Vodyane, Maryinka, Taramchuk, Talakivka (2 times) and Pisky,

(3) Russian proxies launched 7 attacks in the North area with the use of the following types of arms:

forbidden 82-mm mortar launchers – near Luhanske (3 times) and Zaytseve,

easel anti-tank grenade launchers – near Luhanske and Zaytseve,

anti-aircraft installations – near Zaytseve,

high caliber machine guns – near Zolote, Novozvanivka and Katerynivka,

small arms – near Zolote, Novozvanivka and Katerynivka.

(4) 1 Ukrainian serviceman was killed in actions and 1 Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in actions for the last 24 hours.
