Russia – Ukraine war updates from the war zone in southeast Ukraine as of May 8, 2019 by Joint forces operation HQ data: EMPR highlights.

(1) Russian hybrid forces increased to 25 number of attacks in the war zone in eastern Ukraine for the last 24 hours. The enemy used forbidden weaponry 12 times and released 156 mines and shells upon Ukrainian troops positition.

(2) Russian forces launched 12 attacks with the following weaponry in the East area:

forbidden 122-mm artillery – near Troytske,

forbidden 120-mm mortar launchers – near Avdyivka (3 times),

forbidden 82-mm mortar launchers – near Vodyane,

armored infantry weapons – near Avdyivka,

easel antitank grenade launchers – near Troytske, in the area of Novoselivka Druha,

automatic easel grenade launchers – near Nevelske,

grenade launchers – near Hnutove,

high caliber machine guns – near Avdyivka (3 times), near Vodyane, near Hnutove (2 times) and near Lebedynske,

small arms – near Vodyane, Nevelske, Lebedynske, Hnutove (2 times) and near the villges of Bohdanyvka and Petryvske.

(3) Russian proxies launched 11 attacks against Ukrainian troops with the following types of weaponry in the North area:

forbidden 122-mm artillery – near the village of Novozvanivka (5 times), near Popasna,

antitank grenades- near the village of Novozvanivka,

forbidden 120-mm mortar launchers – near the village of Novozvanivka, near Popasna, near Katerynivka (2 times), near Hutir Vylnuy,

forbidden 82-mm mortar launchers – near Katerynivka (2 times),

anti-tank missile systems – near the village of Novozvanivka,

armored infantry weapons – near Popasna,

automatic easel grenade launchers – near Popasna,

high caliber machine guns – near the village of Novozvanivka,

sniper fire – near Pivdenne,

small arms – near Stanytsya Luhanska.

(4) Russian forces losses over the last 24 hours are as follows: 3 killed in action and 2 wounded in actions.

(5) 1 Ukrainian serviceman killed in actions and 3 wounded in actions over the past day.
