NSC news & analysis center briefing at 12:30 June 6, 2015: highlights

News & Analysis Center of the National Security Council of Ukraine presents the latest updates from the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine on June 6, 2015 at its daily briefing.

(1) Pro-Russian militants intensify armed provocations and shelling in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine with the use of heavy artilery;

(2) Mariupol direction: the village of Shyrokyne remains the hottest spot;

(3) Donetsk direction: Combats between Ukrainian army and militants took place near Donetsk airport. Ukrainian armed forces positions near the villages of Pisky, Opytne, Krasnogyryvka, near Butovka mine, and Lozova were shelled by the militants with the use of heavy artilery; The enemy also used armour hardware and Grad MRLS (3 times) in the area of the villages of Granytne, Starognatyvka and Luhanske. The enemy also shelled Ukrainian armed forces checkpoint Maryinka with counter tank lounge systems, mortars and Berezove checkpoint with SPG;  

(4) Luhansk direction: Militants intensify their attack on Ukrainian armed forces positions near the villages of Schastya, Donetskiy, and Zhelobok with the use of 120mm mortars. Counter aircraft guns were used by the militants to attack the towns of Zolote and Crymske;

(5) Over the last 24 hours 48 enemy's UAV's were spotted over the conflict zone;

(6) 1 Ukrainian soldier killed and 10 wounded over the last 24 hours in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine;

(7) Ukrainian servicemen detained 13 subversives, including 1 Russian Federation citizen.
