North Korea ratifies strategic partnership treaty with Russia
This was reported by North Korean news agency KCNA.
According to the treaty, in the event of an armed attack on one party, the other is obliged to provide military and other assistance immediately. This commitment indicates the formation of a military alliance between North Korea and Russia.
Kim Jong Un signed the decree on November 11, and the treaty will take effect on the day the parties exchange ratification documents. The treaty itself was signed on June 19 in Pyongyang.
