Impending catastrophe: critical situation around Kurakhove in Donetsk region

The high intensity of assault operations in the Kurakhove direction persists. The occupiers are determined not only to capture the city but also to encircle Ukrainian forces.

The situation around Kurakhove has become very difficult and dangerous. The Russians continue advancing on the city from three directions, according to Deep State.

Why the loss of Kurakhove is a matter of time

According to analysts, the situation on this front is deteriorating rapidly. The occupiers continue their large-scale plan to encircle the city, advancing from the flanks. By intensifying pressure from new directions, Russian forces are attempting to cut off the Defense Forces’ supply routes. To achieve this, they are assaulting Ukrainian positions from the north, south, and east.

In the north and south, the enemy is working to flank the city, aiming at a minimum to bring the N15 highway (Zaporizhzhia-Donetsk) under fire control, allowing them to target any movement along this route.

“Southern movements are progressing along the Yasna Polyana–Maksymivka–Trudove route, where, despite constant pressure and losses, the enemy is making advances. Approximately 10 kilometers remain between the front line and the highway.

To the north, the occupiers have focused their maximum efforts on the village of Sontsivka, where they have made some attempts to enter the village, though the Defense Forces are managing to eliminate enemy infantry. ‘Constant pressure from small groups, which, if they survive, attempt to hide to accumulate forces, is taking its toll and will eventually allow the enemy to establish a foothold,’ experts suggest.

Simultaneously, there are active Russian attempts to break through in Berestky and Stari Terny.

On Kurakhove’s eastern side, the occupiers are also advancing successfully, reaching the eastern outskirts of the city, where they are trying to fortify their positions.

An unfavorable situation is also developing near the settlements of Antonivka, Katerynivka, and Yelyzavetivka, as the occupiers have intensified their activity, persistently pushing towards Ukrainian positions. If the enemy reaches the N15 highway, this area will become extremely hazardous for deployment.

According to Deep State, concerns are arising over the adequacy of deploying additional resources Ukraine has sent to the Kurakhove area. With these actions, the loss of control over Kurakhove appears to be only a matter of time. If the issue on the flanks isn’t addressed, it could soon lead to yet another disaster, analysts concluded.

Notably, over the past day, there have been 48 enemy attacks in the Kurakhove direction.
