Drones attacked two power plants in Russia and a Moscow oil refinery
On the night of September 1, during a massive drone attack on Russian regions, two thermal power plants in the Moscow and Tver regions, as well as a Moscow oil refinery, were targeted.
Source: Russian propaganda outlet RIA-Novosti, citing local authorities in the city of Kashira, Russian social media channels, and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.
Details: It was reported that there was an attempted attack by three drones on the territory of the Kashira thermal power plant during the night. As usual, Russian authorities claim that “there are no casualties or damage, and no fire occurred.”
However, Russian social media channels are sharing photos and videos from local residents showing the impact on the power plant’s territory.
The Kashira thermal power plant is located on the banks of the Oka River in the city of Kashira, Moscow region.
The Telegram channel Astra reported two fires following a drone attack in the Tver region—one at a thermal power plant and another at a gas distribution network located a few kilometers away.
This is evidenced by videos from local residents.
After the drone attack in Konakovo, Tver region, a fire broke out near the local thermal power plant and at the “Konakovo” gas distribution network, which is a technological part of the main gas pipeline “KGMO-Konakovo.”
Sobyanin stated that drones attempted to attack the Moscow Oil Refinery.
Sobyanin’s direct quote: “A drone was shot down near the refinery. There are no damages or casualties, and there is no threat to the refinery’s operations.”
