Denmark stated that they were ready to transfer F-16s to Ukraine at the beginning of the war and do not place any restrictions on their use
Denmark was ready to deliver F-16 fighter jets to the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the beginning of the war.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen made this statement during the GLOBSEC conference in Prague, according to a correspondent from “European Pravda.”
She noted that Ukraine received the fighter jets later than it should have.
“I regret that the delivery of F-16s took so long. Personally, I was ready to send them to Ukraine from the very beginning of the war. But there was a lengthy discussion about whether it was the right decision or not,” she said.
The Prime Minister did not specify who was responsible for delaying the delivery of the aircraft, but emphasized that it remains crucial for Ukraine to receive all the weapons it needs from the West.
“It is impossible to win without weapons. And the only way to victory is to give the Ukrainians what they need,” she stressed.
In addition, Frederiksen confirmed that Denmark has placed no restrictions on the use of the provided weapons, including the fighter jets.
“We do not impose restrictions on the use of the F-16s, except that international law must be observed. Beyond that, there are no limitations on their use,” she emphasized.
