10% of police officers are fighting on the front line, Klymenko says

10% of the National Police personnel are engaged in combat missions on the front line. This was reported by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko in an interview with Suspilne, as relayed by Censor.NET.

“Another 25% of police officers, which is about a quarter of the personnel, are directly serving in regions where active combat is taking place—Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Sumy regions,” said the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Additionally, Klymenko mentioned that the National Police’s rifle units are being utilized by the Armed Forces Command to fulfill various tasks in support of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

“There are also police units serving alongside border guards on the border with the Republic of Belarus. Overall, currently, about 40-45% of the police personnel are simultaneously engaged in functions atypical for the police, as some officers in rear regions are also periodically rotated to carry out combat tasks, including demining operations,” he added.
